It is, Jasmine! The only caveat is that you need to be a paid subscriber. We've had three writers so far send works to be posted, and solid and useful feedback... so good to see! Let me know if you have any questions.

I would love to participate as it's a genre I have been working on for years with v. little success.

I definitely want to participate. My illustrator has wrangled the pictures together and I will start from scratch.

Very interested, Alison.

I truly love picture books. I have 3 picture books that have been sold and are in various stages of publication…all have been delayed due to the pandemic. My agent has a fourth she is shopping. I am wondering about time commitment though. I look after 4 grandchildren 3-4 days a week depending on my daughter’s nursing schedule. Can you give me a sense of participation level say weekly or monthly?

It does truly depend on how many take part. (Although if quite a number "shows up" I'll consider creating smaller groups.) I find a group of 4-6 is ideal for a breadth of types of feedback. We could set it up so that only one is posted each week (and see where that goes), in which case the read-time and writing of feedback doesn't have to be more than a half hour or so.

The posts will be no more than 1000 words (and should be less, really, for the genre). The feedback posts will be open to all who are taking part (in the closed workshop space!). You shouldn't have to say what others have already said, and you can add your thoughts to the group, or start off with just a couple of points.

If each individual weighs in with one or two solid thoughts or question, it becomes a cumulative process. And can be effective for all.

That sounds perfect, Alison. Thanks.

Thank you for your questions, Sheryl. It's important to set it up well so it'll work for all. Glad you're on board for this. It'll be a pleasure... in the way that good work is!
