Here we go! In the comments, I’m going to post an opening stanza, and in it, I’ll give a nod to the current season as well as the “moon” both together: “buck moon” is the name for the full moon when in July. (Look it up! We were so fortunate to be able to see this full and orange wonder when driving home from our hike!)
The second stanza—which one of you will write and post—will be two lines of seven syllables each.
The third will be yet another three-line haiku of 5/7/5 syllables. Do re-read the post about Renku in the “exercise” section of the August newsletter if you have questions.
Jump in, somebody, and post stanza two… then next… and next…
under the buck moon
silhouette fir, spindles reach
elk ghosts down dirt road
spinning single work only
rough men reaching out rudely
the harvesting time.
we gather in the rows bright
with answered questions.
wind and water will embrace
every single maple leaf
Before our sun sets
Stash midnight in a petal
I'll lick its syrup
