Justina Ireland wrote a YA duology that blew my socks off. "Dread Nation" and "The Dead Divide." She wrote dialogue that was worthy of a screenplay and how to spar with an antagonist. She uses letter excerpts before each chapter as a way to show how homesick the protagonist was, as well as, revealing past history. Absolutely amazing.
