As per the “character inter-lands” post, and working through the possibilities of what might be between two people in a workplace, positive, negative, edifying, demoralizing… whatever.
At times, individuals can seem so thoroughly recognizable—we think we have them “pegged”, so all-of-a-piece. Then see two of them together, and the way characteristics can push and pull at another. The saying “bringing out the worst in each other” comes to mind. Or the best. Or something terrifying. Or generous. Or funny. We can draw things out of each other. And others from us; we are not quite the same with different people.
Why? Explore. Go for the point-form, or develop. This is early stage writing!
And can be rooted in your reality and past—people you have known. Or utterly fiction!

I have found this process benefiting not only my understanding of the characters and how they relate to each other, but also, as you said it would, generating new scenes. The process is also helping me with structure of the overall WIP. So thank you a million times for the best prompt I've ever worked with -- you helped me get out of a bit of a rut.
