One from Neil Young--
Merry Christmas. Love the concept of M & T
And Merry Christmas to you, Cali! That is how it feels: mulling & tinkering! And all over again...
I work for my song.
But the song does come... good.
Some days it's work, some days it's singing. It's a balance. If it is always work, then it's time to find something else to do. Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays to you, Darlene--thank you! You appear to know what that balance is off, and you go play.
Is that a spittoon beneath the radio in the 1942 photo?
I was trying to see what that was... but no, if I enlarge the photo, it appears to be a padded footstool. (?) A spittoon would be far more fun, though. Then the piano would have to be an old-school player...
Merry Christmas, Unschooled Writers! Wherever you are, whatever you do, may your holidays be good.
Thank you, Amy! Wishing you a wonder-filled Christmas, too. Thank you for your sense of community with the Unschool--I do appreciate!
Great tips thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
Thank you, Freya! I take it you mean the helpful bit from Karen!
Thank you for being here :)
So glad this was helpful. Have a lovely holiday and good rest.
Thank you again! Anything for a bit of quiet. It eases the writing, surely... among other things. Yes, to a good rest and holiday.
I appreciate what you bring to Substack, Karen!
I really liked the “mulling & tinkering” concept, it’s just truth. It feels this way.
Grateful to have found you. Your posts are an inspiration and drive for me to keep pursuing writing. Merry Christmas! Enjoy your break.
Aw! Thank you, Tania. Glad you've found the Unschool.
Yes, mulling and tinkering is that headspace for (especially re-)writing. Can't be in a rush.
Merry Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas, Alison and everyone!
Merry Christmas, Elizabeth, to you and yours--enjoy!
