There’s nothing quite like opening that box of your books when first printed. Or seeing online as an e-creation! Even after a number of books, the feeling doesn’t change much. You pour a mug of tea or hot chocolate or a glass of wine, and sit and relish. You celebrate. A week might pass. A day. Maybe if it’s not your first time, half a minute.

And you ask: What happens next?

I wish I was writing this strictly for those who’ve opted for self-publishing, but the truth is, even if you’ve managed to land a publishing deal with a traditional house, you still need to actively promote the work yourself.
