Along the flooded fields I walk
Cross-hatched with sodden soil
Above is sky, with duck and hawk
That breaks to ocean’s coil

There, driftwood antlers sink in sand
And salty logs have gathered fast
They drifted long to reach, to stand
Leftover from the sea storms past
